CAFE PANTONE | Hisarönü,Fethiye
This project is a small café—“Café Pantone”—nestled on a narrow lot in the Hisarönü neighborhood of Fethiye. Anchored around an atrium-like inner courtyard, it offers an intimate gathering spot that celebrates tropic-tinged Mediterranean character.
Concept & Spatial Hierarchy
-
Street Façade & Entry: A softly curved perimeter wall in a warm beige hue rises like a protective veil, then opens via a central arched portal that gently beckons visitors inside.
-
Courtyard & Garden Room: Beyond the arch, sunken planting beds and the dappled shade of mature trees create a “lemon-grove” arrival sequence. This semi-outdoor lounge functions as both entrance transition and standalone café terrace.
Exterior & Material Palette
-
Pure Form & Fluidity: The continuous stucco shell—with its rounded corners—flows around the courtyard, forging a sheltered yet porous barrier.
-
Embedded Nature: Local boulders and clusters of drought-tolerant plants punctuate the façade base, creating a soothing dialogue between hard finish and living texture.
Interior Organization
-
Open-Plan Layout: Upon entry, the service bar and counter sit to the left, with lounge seating to the right. Behind the counter, a discreet back-of-house kitchen supports uninterrupted hospitality flow.
-
Garden Connection: A full-height picture window at the counter frames the courtyard as a living tableau. A row of built-in benches and low tables invites informal rest independently of the main café seating.
Furniture & Lighting
-
Minimal Furnishings: Lightweight timber lounge chairs and benches with neutral linen upholstery pair with large, oval-shaped tables to reinforce the café’s breezy informality.
-
Artful Illumination: Hidden LED cove lighting bathes the ceiling in soft ambient glow after dusk, while sculptural pendant fixtures above the counter lend a contemporary focal accent.
Landscaping & Details
-
Tropical Accents: Pockets of palm trees, bougainvillea, and groundcover plants infuse the courtyard with year-round vibrancy.
-
Stepped Arrival: A three-step platform negotiates the street’s slope, establishing a subtle welcome ritual and a sense of threshold.
Conclusion
Café Pantone delivers a compact, garden-centred retreat that marries privacy and openness. Through its simple shell, organic openings, and lush planting, it offers Hisarönü visitors a sensory “tropical pause” in the heart of Fethiye’s Mediterranean bustle.
