THE PINK HOUSE | Karaburun,İzmir
This project embraces a purified architectural approach that marries the gentle Mediterranean climate and natural stone textures with modern minimalism. Its single-story, horizontal volume seems to float atop the water’s surface amid olive trees and palm clusters; the flat roof plane, in its strong horizontal line, visually unites sky and sea. Generous glass façades seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor landscapes, while strategically placed structural piers and stone-clad shafts introduce both rhythm and a refined sense of luxury.
The main living space maintains an uninterrupted connection with the poolside terrace. Slim black aluminum frames support full-height glazing that invites daylight into the interior, and optional sliding panels allow for subtle comfort adjustments. Low-profile seating on the terrace extends the pool’s water plane outward, reinforcing the visual continuity between water and sky.
Inside, the material palette strikes a balance between natural stone, delicate concrete finishes, and neutral-toned wood. The open-plan kitchen island—with its white marble countertop and steel shelving system—serves as both a functional core and a contemporary focal point. The transition between kitchen and living area is softened by a suspended planter, which adds vertical movement and imbues the space with a living warmth.
In the seating area, a stone accent wall and recessed fireplace niche lend the room a timeless character. A continuous concrete slab console runs along the wall, discreetly housing the television and firewood storage without disrupting the surface continuity. Matte concrete-look porcelain floors unify the entire interior on a single plane, while strategically placed textile rugs and wood-slat paneling introduce subtle tactile warmth.
Ultimately, the project creates a warm, natural atmosphere within a minimalist framework—reinterpreting the Mediterranean lifestyle in a contemporary architectural language through seamless indoor-outdoor integration, rich materiality, and clean, unadorned forms.
